Seven proteins (GAST_HORSE, 1A01_HUMAN, PSK5_ORYSJ, TRY1_HUMAN, OMD_HUMAN, GP1BA_HUMAN, and SCG2_HUMAN) were randomly selected from 115 tyrosine sulfated proteins in SWISS-PROT 53.0 as independent test. Five sulfated proteins (CCKN_CANFA, PSK1_ORYSI, PSK1_ORYSJ, PSK2_ORYSI, and PSK2_ORYSj) from SWISS-PROT release 54.7, which did not stored in SWISS-PROT release 53.0 were also used for test in SulfoSite Independent test can be downloaded.

    >>> Evaluation

Three performance measures were used: Sensitivity, Specificity, and Accuracy,as defined below. Sensitivity (Sn) = TP / (TP+FN), Specificity (Sp) = TN / (TN+FP) and Accuracy (Acc) = (TP + TN) / (TP+FP+TN+FN), where TP, TN, FP and FN are true positive, true negative, false positive and false negative predictions, respectively. The independent test set was used to evaluate the predictive performance of SulfoSite and Sulfinator.
